Petrified Forest National Park Feb 29

In the afternoon of the 29th, after stopping at the visitor's center, we drove through the park, stopping at various overlooks and looking at some of the petrified wood and some ancient Indian art (petroglyphs) on the sides of some rocks. There are warnings all over the park not to take any of the petrified wood, but the film we saw at tne visitor's center stated that even with these warnings, it is estimated that people take a ton of the petrified wood out of the park each month.
